Weatherproofing

Club Mykonos time-share apartments
The exterior walls of these upmarket time-share apartments are exposed to the aggressive elements the West Coast. The buildings suffer sea-water action, salt spray, strong winds, harsh UV radiation, mould and fungal attacks, and water ingress.

Beaumont Park
This upmarket office block consists of eight separate buildings situated on the banks of the Liesbeek River beneath Table Mountain.

Conditions are damp and dark with early afternoon shade, calling for a coating that resists water ingress and fungal growth, and sheds dirt and surface contaminants easily.

The buildings were water-jetted thoroughly to remove dirt and dust.

The entire project was completed within only 3 months.

Marine

BP tanker
The vessel was washed, wet-blasted and then re-washed. A five-coat application of epoxy coatings (three primers and two tin-free anti-fouling applications) was then applied below the waterline. Above the waterline four-coats were applied - three primers and a black finishing coat.

Long Quay Portnet Crane
The surfaces were ultra-high water-jetted. Two coats of multi-purpose epoxy primer and a finishing coat of polyurethane were then applied.

Japanese trawlers Hakko Maru, Hino Maru
The vessels were first fresh-water washed, and then two touch-up coats of primer were applied.
The topside received two finishing coats of vinyl coating.
Two finishing coats of white Z100 anti-fouling were applied to the boot topping while the underwater area received two coats of Z100 red anti-fouling.
